The most famous traditional recipe of ntakos that can be an appetizer or even a light meal. An easy meal that perfectly replaces the salad. In the area of Rethymno it is known as "owl". Simple, with few ingredients and full of flavor. Make yourself at home for a healthy but also a hearty meal.

 



Recipe for authentic ntako

Ingredients:

1 double ntako cracker
2 large ripe tomatoes

3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of tirontakaki
½ tsp. sweet oregano & salt.

Optional olives and capers.


 

Method:
Wet ntako cracker lightly with some water.  Chop the tomato or pass it on the grater. Rake the ntako with half olive oil. Put the tomato on top, add salt and tirontakaki. Sprinkle with oregano, and the remaining olive oil and ... serve.
